Im taking a break from a clients website to write this

not much has changed since my last post. other than some new work i recently got….followed by more stress. i love what i do and i could do it everyday, but sometimes clients or their projects can be the biggest pain in the neck. i hate when people ask me to design something then when its finished and has all the info they wanted on it in place, they decide to change things that require a huge redesign of the project. or when they like it but then want 9999 new things added. or if its designed the way they instructed me to design the project but then change their mind on the final result and want me to re-do the entire thing.

agggh, i hate people sometimes.

my website has been changed drasticly, im still working on the gallery and other aspects of the site but its on hold for the moment until i get these last few client projects out of the way.

once i get these finished im going to try and make a piece a week, and upload it to my website, i think this will help me better build my portfolio and help me learn/master techniques i either have or have not explored yet.

A patient at work made me realize today, that i dont spend enough time writing in my blog. I want to thank you for inspiring me to continue logging my days and events. Since my last post here, i tried to make a video blog everyday. That idea quickly died.

anyway, I currently have a new apartment. so far so good. my money is very tight because of this but im enjoying it. im really hoping everything with LIVE TMG and the label deal goes good. i think live has way more than enough potential to make it in the mainstream world and still represent motown properly. Speaking of LIVE TMG we currently are holding a concert called

so work sucked. thats about as far as that goes.

about the website:
im not sure as to how i want to design the site yet, ive been looking at alot of other sites for inspiration and havnt been able to find much at all. though while i was at work, i took a minute to sketch some things on a post-it note about how i wanted the site to be, and i think im going to go ahead and return to the original style i had when i first opened Edwords.net, which was just a navigation bar and nothing more, so i think ill just design some badass nav bar to hold down the bottom of the page and put the gallery and other text atop the nav bar. so now my process will be on creating some sweet navigation thats easy to use and looks really really cool. i enjoy the CSS style site i have now, and recently picked up a book about css web design so i think im going to keep that same style going on. since i hate doing things in html. it bothers me.

About life:
life sucks, that is all. my world is in shambles right now and im doing my best to survive

About the previous entry:
i know i said i would post something here that you might able to download or whatever….i lied. i have nothing to offer you at this time, and im sorry about that…..oh by the way, i think im going to take the downloads section out of my site since noone really cared to ask much about what downloads i should offer, someone said brushes and stock photos. but i think its stupid so i dont think i will be doing that. maybe i will post them here if i feel the need to do so, but the website is my portfolio and not many other artists really check this out so i think it just isnt worth it. so it is what it is and thats about it.

About My Career:
im trying to get back into school, so im setting up a meeting to see if i can attend the local community college again, but i want to get a portfolio review or a test or something so i can get placed out of the intro classes, since i have taken them before at other schools and the ones i took at the community college last year SUCKED, so im trying to get into something mroe advanced so i wont just drop out again after spending all that money on the classes. i need to get my shit together.

About Clients:
slim and none right now, im in talks with a few people, one a website, another a logo design, and one more but they arnt making it very clear on what they want me to do, so who knows where any of this will end up. my last two clients bailed out on me halfway throught he project, i should have asked for most of the money upfront before i turned people down because i was busy with these projects that inturn went unfinished. so im currently open for some work, if you need it…please let me know.

well that about sums it all up for now, ill try and get another entry in this weekend if i can, maybe ill be more upbeat and have more to say. but for now i dont.

Sorry i havnt been much of a blogger the past few weeks. my life has spun way out of control the past 2weeks, my great grandmother died, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. i turned 21. its been crazy. im not going to be able to say much right now but i will make sure that i come home from work (which i leave for in 5minutes) and post another entry here.

Im thinking about revamping the website (i know, im doing it again) but only because i feel that it isnt up to par with how i want it to look, as well, i just got some sweet stuff to make my gallery much more up to date and visually appealing. someone told me the site was hard to navigate in? i dont see how but i figure this next time around ill do some roll over stuff, just to make sure the site is more usuer friendly i guess, and i just got some books on web design so im trying to test these new techniques out that im learning.

I should have some new artwork in the next few days, i was extremely raped of my creative abilitys the past few days, and i dont know why, i could find inspiration to design but then just staired at a blank canvas the whole time not knowing where i wanted to start the project and eventually gave up.

Hello  everyone,

So being that i am revamping the website and just recently got my hands on the Adobe Creative Suite CS4. I wanted to add a few new options to the website, maybe to attract more viewers or just help people out with there design questions. When I started to think of what i wanted to be added to the site as “Bonus” features, i thought about all the things i wished i known about when i started as a graphic designer. So i am in the process right now of creating new brushes for people to download, Video tutorials on various subjects, mainly in photoshop and dreamweaver. But i would also like to know what else people would like to see me offer for download. maybe its a few plug-ins here on the blog, or some new software that i came across? only time will tell what exactly i will be posting up on here, so dont just look at the site, my blog will more than likley be the number one place that i update. Now i know ive said that almost 1000 times but im serious, i have much more free time on my hands now that i have left my second job and winter is coming (so ill be inside on the computer more often).

In other news, i recently obtained some new clients and will be showing their website design in the next 2-3weeks (i hope) being that this is the time frame the client gave me inwhich they will have approved a design for me to go ahead and code.

im going to be posting a splash page for the intro of the website in the next coming days with an official date on when i will be opening the site for everyone to see, i gaurente you this is going to be the best that EdWords.net ever looked, im most excited about it for the fact that this time im doing every single part of it, from Design to Coding, i might even add in some flash stuff for the gallery or other aspects of the site, WHO KNOWS!? ive tossed around a few sketches and quick designs of the layout and have since scrapped them all, so starting today and untill the release (which WILL be sometime in november) im going to be workiing diligently on getting that finsihed.

Soon i will be a ACE (Adobe Certified Expert) In Photoshop. im studying/training for the test as we speak. i hope that the CS4 test comes out before my cs4 pre-realese expires and i have to purchase the collection, so i can take that test as well. this will be a nice thing to have. 1) for myself and 2) for my clients to see on my website and business cards. 74questions. 60% is passing. multi-choice questions. psssh i think i got this one in the bag. matt kloskowski from photshop user tv has a video to help prepare you for the test, ive been watching that quite often now to help sharpen my skills.

Photoshop world 2008 Vegas has ended, sadly i was not there to witness it. BUT Photoshop World 2009 IS COMING to Boston MA. and i will be in attendence for that one. im saving up my money right now for my pass, plane ticket, and hotel fee. though i should also being some extra money for things like food and drink, or more importantly, TRADE ROOM PURCHASES! I watched a video on the kelby online training website that scott kelby did for photoshop world which showcased a few of the classes and some of the things going on down on the trade floor, there was alot of cool new tech stuff and lightboxes and blah blah blah that more than likly would have left me broke and stranded in vegas with lots of cool new gadgets and software in my hands.  anyway, see you next year as PS World 2009.
